Tuna Melt Sandwich Recipe

Tonight I made myself a delicious Tuna Melt Sammy, lol I made a pun! A Tuna Melt Sandwich is something anyone can whip up in 5-10 minutes.

All you need for this recipe is:
  • canned tuna (1 or more)
  • onion (1/2 or more of 1)
  • mayo
  • wheat bread
  • slice of mild cheddar cheese
  • teaspoon of butter
  • pepper, salt or Johnny's seasoning, and
  • a pickle for a side snack.
1. First you want to chop up the onion into thick or thin pieces, it really just depends on your taste. I kind of just slice the onion thinly then chop it casually so I have assorted bite size pieces.

2. Second, combine the drained tuna, onion, and mayo in a bowl or tupperware if you want to save some for later and mix everything thoroughly so that each piece of tuna is nicely covered with mayo. Now, the amount of mayo again just depends on your taste. Put less if you prefer a more tuna and onion taste and don't mind it being that dry (of course you can just add some olive oil to kill the dryness), or put more if you like your sandwiches with a thinner spread. Salt and pepper to taste.

3. Next, you want to coat your frying pan with butter under medium heat. The trick here is to use a large enough pan that you can flip your sandwich easily without breaking it apart or, use a toaster oven ;). Now once that heat is going, make your sandwich with the tuna and the cheese and place on pan. Fry each side until cheese looks melted and bread is browned. Place on plate with pickle and viola! You're done. Enjoy!
